5.What is the main difference between a credit union and a bank?
The main benefit of being part of a credit union community is that our customers are actually members and they own the institution.
Westoba holds annual meetings where members elect a Board of Directors who choose the direction of the organization.
Another benefit is that deposits are guaranteed 100% by Deposit Guarantee Corporation of Manitoba.
We are local. We take being good neighbours seriously and believe in the power of giving back. Hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations and sponsorships and thousands of staff volunteer hours go back into the communities we serve.
