Background and Experience
I grew up on a cattle farm on the east side of Pelican Lake near Ninette, Manitoba. I currently live on the west side of Pelican Lake, on my husband’s family homestead. We have a few cows, a donkey, and dogs. I have lived in all the prairie provinces and am happy to be back in Manitoba to raise my family. I have two amazingly stubborn and independent kids who are extremely curious as to what agriculture entails from riding in the tractor to calling for the cows.
I have worked within the financial industry for over 11 years as an ag/commercial lender. Growing up in a rural environment, agriculture has been a specific area of interest to me. I hold a diploma in Herd Health Technology from Lakeland College in Alberta and a diploma from Olds College where I graduated with distinction from the Small Business Entrepreneurship program specializing in Agriculture.
How Can I Help You?
I grew up in the rural Westman area and have chosen to raise my own family here. My personal experience within agriculture is a perfect fit for me to deliver knowledgeable service to our members. My combination of experience and education will be a definite asset in helping my neighbours and community succeed.
On a Personal Note…
While at Lakeland College, I tried training to be a bull rider. The training didn’t last long on account of me being very accident prone, and not a fan of pain. I now focus my sport abilities on playing baseball for fun.
