Garnet McBurney currently serves on the following board committees:

Garnet McBurney was raised on a grain farm in southwestern Manitoba (near Elgin).  He completed his high school education at Hartney Collegiate Institute in 1984, then graduated with a degree in AgriBusiness from Assiniboine Community College in 1987.

Garnet has worked in the accounting field since 1988, progressing to holding the position of Controller for two major Brandon-based companies during his career.  In 2007, he started his own bookkeeping /consulting firm on a part-time basis, and in 2010, stepped into that career full-time.  He has been the President of Venture Accounting Group Ltd. since operating in Brandon.  Garnet’s passion is being involved with new business start-ups, helping plot their financial course and mentoring new business owners to help them achieve success.

Garnet has more than 10 years of experience serving on various daycare Boards in Brandon. He has two grown children, daughter Madison in Calgary and son Braeden in Brandon.
