Henry Maryniuk was born in Shoal Lake, MB and raised on a farm on Rossburn, Manitoba. He has three children with his wife of 44 years, Karen, and they call Souris home.
During his early years, Henry received his education in a one-room schoolhouse. His quest to learn inspired him to pursue secondary education studies at Red River Community College, taking the Medical Radiation Technologist program. A perpetual learner, Henry took many other courses in Management, Leadership, Finance, Technology, Digital Imaging and Lean Six Sigma.
After 42 years in the medical industry, Henry retired to pursue other goals. Some of these experiences include serving as a board member for the Souris School for 24 years, as former president of the Souris Lions Club and Director of Rural Operations for Diagnostic Services of Manitoba. Henry currently serves as the Chair of Donor Choice and is a member of the A&M church committee.
When he’s not taking a course, volunteering or leading, he enjoys camping with his family, watching his grandchildren play sports and kayaking. Henry and Karen also like to go road-tripping on his motorbike. Together, they’ve traveled in the USA and have toured scenic Vancouver all the way to Dawson City, Yukon – an impressive 8,500 km long trip!
