Jim Abernethy currently serves on the following Board committees:

Jim Abernethy is a cattle producer from Glenboro. Jim has a diploma in Agriculture from the University of Manitoba and considers himself to be a lifelong learner. Jim regularly attends conferences and webinars on a variety of topics with a special interest in financial management, environmental stewardship, and sustainable agriculture.

Jim has been a member of Westoba’s Board of Directors and was Board Chair from 2016 to 2021. His board experience includes Assiniboine Hills Conservation District, Glenboro Consumers Co-op, and a Provincial Advisory Board for Credit Union Central of Manitoba.

Jim believes his life long career as an agricultural producer, when combined with his previous experience as a Westoba director, gives him an excellent understanding of the needs and expectations of Westoba members.  

He looks forward to the opportunity to represent the members of District Three and contributing to a strong and progressive organization.
