Canada Post Strike – Important Member Update

Date: September 26, 2025

Due to the launch of the Canada Post national strike, Assiniboine Credit Union is actively monitoring the situation. As this disruption unfolds, mail deliveries, including cards and paper statements, for your Westoba Credit Union account may be delayed.

What You Need to Know

Statement Delays

If you receive paper statements, expect possible delays. You can always view your balance and transaction history online; enroll in eStatements by calling 1-877-WESTOBA (937-8622) or through the WestobaGO Mobile app. For more information and how-tos, visit Manage your online account – Westoba.

Important: Once enrolled, you’ll receive eStatements and notifications when your next statement is issued.

Government of Canada Cheques

In response to the nationwide strike by the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) effective September 25, 2025, the Receiver General’s agreement with Canada Post for delivery of certain socio-economic cheques has been activated.

Canada Post employees will deliver the following cheques – Canada Pension Plan (CPP), Old Age Security (OAS), Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) benefits, and Canada Child Benefit (CCB) – to recipients once a month.

For October 2025, the majority of these cheques will be delivered on October 20th, with certain rural and remote deliveries later that week.

Card Delivery

Expect delays if you’re waiting for a replacement card (lost, stolen, or damaged). If this is impacting you, please call 1-877-WESTOBA (937-8622) to avoid any inconveniences.

Mail delivery will resume once postal service is restored, though delays are likely as service catches up.
