Meet Your District 3 Candidates
Below are the names and biographies of your candidates seeking election in District 3. If you are a member in Killarney/Ninette/Cartwright/Swan Lake/Pilot Mound/Winnipeg, please exercise your democratic right to vote in this election.
The Board of Directors of Westoba Credit Union Ltd. recognizes that a strong Board will be comprised of Directors possessing an ideal combination of skills, experience, and attributes. The Board is specifically interested in attracting new Directors with experience in agriculture, business, human resources, information technology, and organization development. We ask you please take this into consideration when choosing your candidates.
The directors will be elected prior to the Annual General Meeting. All elected directors will be announced here at www.westoba.com in mid-April.
Kevin Antonyshyn
Kevin Antonyshyn [B.Comm.(Honours), MBA, CPA, CGA, LL.B] currently practices both as an independent lawyer and CPA, and has been serving clients in his own practice for 25 years. Before that, Kevin held positions of progressive management responsibility with large national companies. There he obtained significant experience in financial, marketing, and strategic planning roles. Kevin also has extensive leadership experience serving on various Boards and committees, including on Governance, Audit & Risk, and Investment Committees.
His cross-functional background and experience gives him a rare perspective and insight. Academically, Kevin was awarded the Manitoba gold medal as an accountant, achieving top marks in Canada in taxation and finance, and was on the Dean’s Honour List in law school where he received numerous awards. Dr. Abiodun Oshode
Dr. Abiodun Oshode is a 53-year-old male and a well-trained professional banker with over 25 years experience in Operations and Marketing which cut across Business Development, Risk Minimization, Profit Optimization, and Credit/Marketing Functions. Dr. Oshode holds a bachelor’s degree in statistics with an MBA, MSc in Management and a PhD in Business Administration specializing in General Management.
Dr. Oshode brings vast experience in leadership and management and an ability to interpret financial statements for board decisions following due diligence in managing the various risks associated with financial institutions. Given the opportunity, he is excitement to add his knowledge and experience to the solutions delivery of excellence that has made the Credit Union a leader amongst its peers. He looks forward to bringing the vision of enriching the lives and communities of its members to reality.

Douglas Wanyoike
Douglas Wanyoike currently sits on Westoba’s Information Technology Committee, as well as the Governance Committee. Douglas is a Canadian citizen, born and raised in Kenya. He’s currently employed by Paradigm Consulting Group Inc. as a Business Systems Analyst. Douglas’s professional work experience in Healthcare, Insurance, and Social Media Advertising dealing with on-premise, SAAS and PAAS environments has prepared him for this opportunity.
His friends and family describe him as a proactive, innovative, and dependable team leader with great interpersonal skills. Douglas is a highly motivated, focused and dedicated professional with extensive work experience in resolving problems using people, processes and technology. He also has certifications in Project Management, Change Management, Information Technology Infrastructure Library and Lean Six Sigma.
