Westoba is proud to continue it’s support of the Immigrant Centre with $25,000.00 to sponsor their Nutrition Services Program for another year.
With the challenges 2020 has presented, Westoba recognizes the importance of this continued partnership.
“We are better together and after a challenging 2020, I don’t know if those words ever rang truer,” said Westoba Senior Manager of Member Experience, Henry Neufeld. “The opportunity to support critical components in our community is at the heart of what Westoba does.”
Westoba’s President and CEO, Jim Rediger says this partnership with the Immigrant Centre Manitoba is also an integral part of Westoba’s community investment strategy and that “we are proud to be a part of this important initiative for the third year.”
Jorge Fernandez, Immigrant Centre CEO added that, “The Immigrant Centre of Manitoba is honoured to have the opportunity to work with the Westoba team to enhance our Nutrition services for newcomers. This partnership will benefit countless newcomers in Winnipeg and Manitoba. By supporting our Nutrition Program, Westoba will be supporting the long-term health of newcomers and their families.”
The Nutrition Services program at Immigrant Centre of Manitoba consists of 20 Cooking Matters sessions including weekly classes delivered over 8 weeks. These classes empower immigrants and refugees with the knowledge to make healthier choices for themselves and their families, improve nutritional status and foster overall well-being.
