Interac Flash Tap Limits are increasing!
Effective immediately starting April 22nd, Interac Flash (Tap) Limits will be increasing. The new limits will be:
- $250 per transaction limit (previously $100).
- $400 cumulative limit.
Cardholders will need to enable the increase by making three consecutive point of sale transactions using PIN entry. Once completed the new limit will be implemented.
Check out the FAQs below for more information.
Once cardholders have enabled the updated limit, they can use their Westoba debit card’s built in Interac Flash technology for purchases up to $250 per transaction without entering their PIN. They will also be able to use Interac Flash up to $400 in cumulative transactions.
(Once the limit is exceeded cardholders will be prompted to enter their PIN. Once their PIN is successfully entered their Interac Flash limits will reset to zero again.)
All the cardholder needs to do in order to enable their tap limit increase is to complete three consecutive point of sale transactions using PIN entry. Once completed, the contactless tap transaction limit will increase to $250 and the cumulative limit to $400!
No there is no time limit, the point of sale transactions using PIN can be completed days or weeks apart as long as they are consecutive.
Cardholders can complete the three consecutive point of sale transactions using PIN any time to enable their tap limit increase.
For example: if a cardholder only performs purchases using the tap then the limit won’t be updated. But if they decide to complete the three consecutive point of sale transactions using PIN later in the year, then they will have their tap limit for Interac Flash updated at that time.
All new cards issued will automatically have the new tap limit for Interac Flash set up. Cardholders will not need to do anything to enable it.
If a cardholder does not complete the three contact point of sale transactions using PIN their limits will remain unchanged until they do so.
