International Credit Union Day Celebration

Date: October 15, 2021

October 21st is International Credit Union Day, and this year we are celebrating the theme ‘Building financial health for a brighter tomorrow’. TM

So, what makes your local credit union different than a big bank? Credit Unions are member owned, and community focused, which means dollars are put directly back into the communities we serve.

Last year we asked our social media followers to tell us how credit unions make a difference in their community, and these are just a few of the positive comments we received:

  • Friendly Service
  • Helpful and locally minded
  • Best savings for your money, no hidden costs or fees.
  • Community supporter.
  • My credit union knows me.
  • The staff are professional, friendly and extraordinary at what they do. I’ve always felt welcome.

As a Manitoba Credit Union, Westoba is committed to building strong, sustainable communities that benefit our membership. In 2020, Westoba provided over $360,000.00 in sponsorship dollars, donations and support to our communities. Check out this video to hear more about Westoba’s Community Investment successes.

International Credit Union Day Giveaway

This year, we want to celebrate with our communities virtually by holding a giveaway over on the Westoba Facebook and Instagram pages for the chance to win a $250 donation to the non-profit organization of your choice! We will be giving away two prizes (one on Instagram and one on Facebook), so keep your eyes peeled for the giveaway details on October 21st – you won’t want to miss it!
