Westoba Credit Union is pleased to announce the 2022 recipient of our $1000 Student Bursary!
Our Student Bursary Contest took place in June where we asked 2022 Manitoba High School Graduates about their outstanding school and community contributions, and what being a credit union member means to them for a chance to win a $1000 bursary towards their educational goals.
Congratulations to our 2022 bursary winner, Ryan Devos! Born and raised on a dairy farm near Bruxelles, Manitoba, Ryan recently graduated from Prairie Mountain High School in Somerset, Manitoba. Ryan has been actively involved in his community for many years and told us what being a credit union member means to him.
“I love farming. I plan to take a Crop Sciences course in Yorkton, SK, work for a couple of years and come back home to farm. Like my parents and grandparents before me, I want to better the farm and set it up for the next generation.
“My parents and grandparents started out banking with Louise Credit Union and when it changed to Westoba they remained. I also intend to rely on Westoba to help me progress in farming. It is so nice to see a familiar face in our local branch. Westoba’s rates are so competitive, and they can always find a solution to any banking need. They are right on track with any online banking and the teleservice is second to none. I love how they support their communities by offering grants for projects, providing scholarships and volunteering at events. I feel secure knowing my money will be borrowed and invested with Westoba.
“When I come back home to farm, I will be relying on Westoba to keep offering me the same great service and rates as they have offered my parents and grandparents in the past. My dream is to farm, and I know Westoba will be with me every step of the way.” – Ryan Devos
Thank you to everyone who submitted to our 2022 Student Bursary Contest, we wish you all success in your pursuit of furthering your education!
