Representatives from the Wawanesa Fire Department and Westoba Credit Union met on June 5th to announce funding in the amount of $2500.00 for the Wawanesa Fire Department Medical Response Unit from Westoba’s Inspire program.
The funding from Westoba Inspire is part of Westoba’s 60th anniversary celebration and will be used to equip the Wawanesa Fire Hall to provide critical medical services.
“The Community and area are 30 + minutes away from an EMS station which has severe impacts on patient outcomes,” said Wawanesa Fire Department Volunteer Fire Chief, Dennis Gullet. “The first response station allows us to provide needed medical assistance to sick residence and visitors to our community and surrounding area.”
