BRANDON, MB – Members of Westoba Credit Union (WCU) in District 1 went to the polls March 23rd to elect the newest member of the Westoba Board of Directors. Voting closed April 3rd, results are below:
District 1 (Brandon/MAXA Financial) Scott Lamont for a 3-year term.
District 2 (Carberry/Souris/Rivers/The Pas) Jane Brown – Acclaimed 3-year term.
District 3 (Killarney/Ninette/Cartwright/Swan Lake/Pilot Mound/Winnipeg) Rick Lussier – Acclaimed 3-year term.
Vice-Chair, Don Green is leaving the Westoba board after serving 6 years, and Al Morken is leaving after 8 years of service.
“Our sincere thanks go out to Don and Al for their years of dedicated service on behalf of the members of Westoba Credit Union, “said Jim Abernethy WCU Board of Directors Chair. “Their knowledge and guidance at the Board table was valued by all who had the opportunity to work with them. We look forward to working again with past directors Jane and Rick, and to our new director Scott Lamont, and welcome them to the Board”
A mandate of the Westoba Credit Union is to provide accessible voting through our website and in branch voting.
“During this COVID-19 crisis we thank everyone who participated in the election process to either put their name forward as a candidate or to vote,” said WCU Board Director and Governance Committee Chair Elizabeth (Liz) Roberts. “As a cooperative, it is important our members are actively involved in helping set the direction of our credit union.”
The new directors will officially take over their roles following Westoba’s Annual General Meeting, date to be announced.
